The quest for knowledge about the gregarious species inspired the research team to find out about the species from those who live close to the resource. To do this, all stakeholders were brought on board. The team first visited the Somanya Forestry Commission who is in charge of the Yongwa Forest Reserve. Contacts of the forest guard was obtained. He helped by introducing us to the communities and their respective heads as researchers. We made them aware of our mission and about our intentions to stay and the stipulated time for the data collection.
Questionnaire administration was done between second and third week of February, 2018. Data collection was mostly done in the evenings, since all of the respondents left very early to their farms and returned later, after 4:00pm. Focus group discussion was done on 10th February, 2018, from 2:00pm - 3:30pm.
